Berries that don't go mouldy for a week

A vinegar bath and a dry towel extend the life of strawberries and raspberries.

Berries that don't go mouldy for a week
1

Mix 1 part vinegar with 3 parts cold water and dip the berries for 1–2 minutes — it washes off mould spores.

2

Rinse with clean water so there's no vinegar taste.

3

Dry the berries completely — spread them on a towel for 30 minutes. Moisture is berries' worst enemy.

4

Store them in a container lined with kitchen paper with the lid ajar. Remove any squashed berries straight away: one bad berry spoils the whole box.
